Ink Fingerprinting in Orlando, Florida
If you've been told you need your fingerprints on a physical card, you've probably already discovered how hard those are to get in Florida. Most providers here only do live scan. That doesn't help when an out-of-state licensing board, a federal agency, or an attorney is asking for an actual ink card they can hold in their hands.
That's what we do, and it's what we're known for.
We keep fingerprint cards in stock at our Downtown Orlando office, so you don't have to order one and wait for it to arrive in the mail. If a card was already mailed to you, bring it β we'll use it. And if you're not sure which card you need, bring the letter or instructions you were given and we'll figure it out together.

Fingerprint Cards We Keep in Stock
You don't need to bring your own card. We stock:
- FD-258 β the card most of our clients need. The standard FBI applicant card, used for most background checks and out-of-state professional licensing
- FD-1164 β for FBI Identity History Summary reports and immigration filings
- SF-87 β for federal government employment and contracting
- ATF cards β for NFA trusts, Form 4 submissions, and federal firearms licensing
- FINRA cards β for broker-dealer registration and financial services compliance
Don't see the card you need? Call or text us at 407-801-0542. We work with cards from agencies and licensing boards all over the country, and if we don't have yours on hand, we'll tell you exactly how to get one.

Who Needs Ink Fingerprinting
Immigration and FBI background checks. If you need an FBI Identity History Summary, an immigration filing, or a records request, an ink card is typically what's required. We use the FD-1164 card for these. Learn more about our immigration fingerprinting β
Out-of-state professional licensing. Nurses, therapists, insurance agents, real estate professionals, and contractors applying for a license in another state are almost always asked for an ink card. Florida's live scan system doesn't transmit to other states' boards, which catches a lot of people off guard.
Federal employment and contracting. Federal positions and contractor roles generally require the SF-87 card. We keep them on hand.
FINRA and financial services. Broker-dealers, investment advisors, and their new hires often need ink cards as part of registration and compliance. More on FINRA fingerprinting β
ATF and federal firearms. NFA trust applications, FFL dealers, and Form 4 submissions require ink cards submitted in duplicate. More on ATF fingerprinting β
Expungement and record sealing. Florida's process requires ink prints on a specific card. We work with criminal defense attorneys across the state. More on expungement fingerprinting β
Employment, adoption, court matters, and volunteer screening. If someone handed you a blank card and told you to get it filled out, you're in the right place.
Why Ink Cards Are Hard to Find in Florida
Florida moved to live scan years ago for most in-state background checks. It's faster and it works well for Florida.
The problem is that live scan is a Florida system. When an agency outside the state needs your prints, or when a federal process specifically calls for a physical card, live scan providers can't help you. And because so few Florida providers still do ink fingerprinting, people end up driving across the state, or worse, going somewhere that does it badly.
Ink fingerprinting is a skill. Prints get rejected when they're rolled too quickly, when there's too much ink or too little, or when the prints look smudged. A rejected card means starting over β reordering, rescheduling, and often missing a deadline that mattered.
We've built our reputation on getting it right the first time, including for clients who came to us after being rejected somewhere else.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
- Bring your ID and your paperwork. A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required. If you were sent a card, a letter, or specific instructions, bring those too. See our full list of accepted IDs below.
- We confirm what you actually need. Before we roll a single print, we check the card type, how many copies you need, and how it's meant to be submitted. This step is where most mistakes get caught.
- We take your prints. Rolled carefully and checked for clarity as we go. Most appointments take about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how many cards you need.
- We review before you leave. Every card gets checked for smudging, completeness, and correct information before it goes in your hands.
- We can mail it for you. If you'd rather not handle the submission yourself, we offer a mailing and shipping service for a nominal fee. Just ask when you book.

No. We keep FD-258, FD-1164, SF-87, ATF, and FINRA cards in stock. If you were mailed a specific card, bring it and we'll use that one β but if you don't have one, we've got you covered.
Live scan captures your prints digitally and transmits them electronically, usually to a Florida agency. Ink fingerprinting puts your prints on a physical card that you mail or hand-deliver. The agency requesting your prints decides which one you need. If you're not sure, bring us your paperwork and we'll tell you.

Yes, and we see this often. Rejections usually come down to technique β prints rolled too fast, too much ink, or incomplete coverage. Bring your rejection notice if you have it so we can see exactly what the agency flagged.
